One thing I love doing on the weekends in New York City is exploring all the great restaurants that pop up every week. There is never a shortage of good places to eat and brunch is THEE MEAL here in NYC. Brunch and Day Parties seem to be the wave and I’m not complaining. I love being able to eat and immediately dance it off. This past weekend I went to the chic new brunch spot, While We Were Young in the West Village. It was actually my second time going in a month (it’s that good). One of my favorite blogger babes Jenee Marie of High Low Luxxe was in town and I was thrilled to meet up with her and do what bloggers do; eat, drink and of course shoot. So I put on my favorite Rachel Comey Jeans from Shopbop (who’s currently having an epic sale) and headed to the West Village to meet her for brunch.

NYC BRUNCH FAVS
I love While We Were Young for their amazing decor; think plush rose pink couches and marble table tops. It’s super instagram worthy but a little on the small side so it’s better for small groups 2-4 people tops. There’s always a bit of a wait as well because it’s pretty popular. So go early and put your name on the list and walk around the picturesque West Village until they text you. Carrie Bradshaws’ apartment from Sex and the City is a mere 5 minute walk away. While We Were Young has amazing cocktails — The While We Were Young Cocktail is my favorite with vodka, vanilla bean, butterfly pea flower and sparkling wine. Oh and each time I’ve gone I’ve ordered the chicken and kale waffles (which is so good my mouth is watering just thinking about it), but I tasted Roses’ avocado toast as well and it’s the best I’ve ever had.
I am a full fledged francophile. I love Paris and I try to go every year. When I’m missing Paris and I want really good cuisine I go straight to Buvette for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday morning. There’s always a wait so I go alone and usually get seated right away either at the bar or the cute little window seats right in front. Buvette has amazing eggs, pastries and freshly squeezed juice. My favorite thing on the menu is the Jambon Cru which is fluffy steamed eggs on crunchy bread with prosciutto and shaved parmesan and a buttery croissant with raspberry jam.
Maman NYC is cozy, cottage chic and feels like you’re in a small Parisian village as opposed to a bustling NYC metropolis. It even has is own lush green garden out back perfect for a warm Spring or Summer day with wood tables for rustic flat lays. There’s a small market inside where I like to buy my sage sticks. I’m a fan of their Matche Latte and their waffle iron hash browns with smoked salmon, avocado and mixed greens.
Housed inside of furniture and design store Roman and Williams Guild is La Mercerie. It is rustic and chic with plush royal blue couches and florals all around. You can literally buy the plate you eat off of which is pretty freaking cool. Go for their delicious desserts which seem to be the best thing on the menu. Don’t forget to stand on the corner of Mercer and Howard and get an epic photo right in front of the restaurant with the cascading foliage draping over the blue building for the perfect backdrop.
Café Medi is an instagram dream, bright and airy with foliage and murals. The restaurant serves fresh mediterranean fare but it’s all classic with a twist when it comes to their weekend brunch. Go for the Tuscan Broiled Skillet with kale, prosciutto and potatoes or Strawberry Buttermilk Pancakes with berry butter sauce. Save room for dessert because it you are a cheese lover then this place will quench your thirst. The burrata is divine. Café Medi is in the cool Lower East Side area close to many boutique shops too. So have a meal and then hit the nearby shops.

I love this fit and those Mules are simply gorgeous. I love the Rachel Comey jeans and I want to get a pair, but I’m 5’3 and I’m not sure how they would look on me. I’d love to hear what you think? Thanks in advance!
