I may not like Fall weather but I love Fall fashion and thought I’d head to Forever 21 in Soho, NYC to stock up on some Fall fashion and to test out the new Afterpay in-store payment option. You all know I’m a huge fan of Afterpay and I’ve brought you all tons of content in collaborations with them from the Top 10 Beauty & Fashion Trends for Summer 2020 to the Top 5 Trends Everyone Bought This Spring and today I’m sharing my shopping experience with you. You can now pay for your purchases at participating Afterpay retailers with their new in- store payment option. Stores like Forever 21, Finish Line, Fresh and select DSW stores allow you to Afterpay it in 4 in store! The Afterpay in-store payment option works the same way it does when you shop online. The Afterpay Card is a virtual contactless Visa card stored in the Apple or Google digital Wallet. You will be able to pay securely in four installment payments.
HOW TO USE
- Open the Afterpay app and tap the card icon
- Complete one-time set up and then the card lives in your digital wallet
- You’re then able to see your available-to-spend and then tap to transact
- Transactions are processed as a contactless Visa card transaction

I often do contactless payments using Applepay and this was no different except I only paid 1/4 of the total of my purchase. I simply hovered my phone over the reader and my Afterpay in-store payment was authorized and only charged me for 1 of the 4 payments. It also showed me exactly how much I’d owe and when payments are due for the next 3 payments. My total was $200 so I was charged $50 for that in-store transaction. I will continue to pay $50 every 2 weeks until my total is paid off. The transaction was simple, quick and efficient and I love that I didn’t have to actually touch anything other than my phone. It feels a lot safer especially during these times. I went for this gorgeous babydoll dress in a thick sweatshirt fabric that I can rock with a bootie, a knee high boot or even over nice tights when it gets colder. I also think that the Afterpay in-store payment option hit US stores just in time for the holidays and to take advantage of early holiday shopping and Thanksgiving sales. If you start purchasing things on your gift list now, your orders will be completely paid for well before the holidays and you’ll already have your items instead of worrying about getting items by the holidays. Head to Afterpay for a look into what retailers are offering the Afterpay in-store payment option.
